Pic of the Day

Project December: Day 17

Tonight we spent some time with my wife's sister and brother, eating and watching tv. After dinner, I got to show my nephew how fun photography can be. We played around with some of his light toys. His favorites were the "ghost pictures" and drawing stick figures. So we did a little of both.

I love seeing the wide eyed wonder of anyone who gets blown away by how fun photography can be, especially a kid with a big imagination :). I was that way when I first got into it, and what keeps me shooting, the desire to get that feeling again. Its like a creative drug, I want to learn more and do new cool things that blow me away more than the last thing I did. It is a cycle that keeps pushing me forward with my work and one that I hope never goes away.

I hope you enjoy todays fun shot :) Its Jackson's modeling debut to the world. Great job Jack Attack :)

Project December: Day 16

Yet another beautiful sunset here in the Scenic City and I was fortunate enough to be out shooting when God decided to do a little painting in the sky :).

This is another spot that I have shot several times, but I am trying to revamp my archive, so had to shoot this one bigger and better than ever before. Luckily the sky knew I was coming and decided to hep me out.

I am posting this with just minutes to spare today.  I am trying to only post photos I take the day of as to not cheat on this photo a day challenge. I hope you enjoy :)

Project December: Day 15

Yet again my attempt at todays photo failed. Twice actually. But with time running down I grabbed my wife, borrowed her model hands, and set up a photoshop pic for today.

I took a shot of her hands lit by a desk lamp, did some google image searching, and then just played around in photoshop for a while until I ended up with this image. It may be a little weird, but I am pretty obsessed with space and time and all that crazy-ness so I was just having some fun and letting my imagination go to work. It's nothing too special but I love my photoshop time so I hope you enjoy it :)

Project December: Day 14

Today as I drove to get some lunch from my favorite chicken joint, I saw the church down the road from my house. This is an old church with some beautiful architecture. I got my lunch and came back to shoot around the church.

I love seeing old buildings like this, and today it stood out more than normal, because it was a very foggy misty gloomy day. The mood was very interesting and went with the old feel of the church. I can't really describe it but it very well but one of my favorite shots was in a corridor with some beautiful woodwork in the ceiling.

I knew this would turn out great as an HDR since the textures were so warm and defined. I spent about an hour around the church listening to some motivational stuff on my phone and shooting away. I got some really great stuff but the texture and color in this shot really stood out.

I hope you enjoy :)

Project December: Day 13

Today was a pretty crappy picture day. Busy in the office all day, and when I went out to shoot one of the ideas in my idea book, it went horribly. I went out to the end of the Chattanooga airport runway where it was insanely muddy and wet and stood for 2 hours waiting to get a long exposure of a plane taking off. Well I never realized how incredibly low traffic our airport is. In the 2 hours there were only a handful of planes that came in or out which made it very hard to compose since I needed to actually shoot the planes taking off to get my composition and timing correct.

So here is the pretty lame photo I got out of the handful of pictures I took while sinking in the mud. Yes I had to dig my shoes out of the mud because I got knee deep and it was very cold and dirty. But thats how the photo game goes. You win some you lose some. This was my fault for not preparing before hand. Lesson learned, now here is your photo for day 13 of Project December. Hope you enjoy
